22 Then the Lord
said to Moses, 23 “Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels[d] of liquid
myrrh, half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels[e] of fragrant
calamus, 24 500 shekels of cassia—all according to the
sanctuary shekel—and a hin[f] of olive
oil. 25 Make these into sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend,
the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil. 26 Then
use it to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law, 27 the
table and all its articles, the lamp stand and its accessories, the altar of
incense, 28 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils,
and the basin with its stand. 29 You shall consecrate them so
they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy.
30 “Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may
serve me as priests. 31 Say to the Israelites, ‘This is to be
my sacred anointing oil for the generations to come. 32 Do not
pour it on anyone else’s body and do not make any other oil using the same
formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred. 33 Whoever
makes perfume like it and puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off
from their people.’”
The subject of the anointing is ever
more and increasingly becoming very interesting as much as its operations
complex to keep abreast with.
The anointing whose morphology is a
mixture of the finest spices (Liquid myrrh, sweet smelling cinnamon, sweet
smelling cane, cassia), and olive oil.
Olive oil is in fact no ordinary element as
the case is stipulated in Exodus 30:22-33.The anointing oil is extra-ordinary
in the very sense that it was used and it’s still used to this present day in
the effort to separate ordinary men from extra-ordinary men, holy from unholy,
and natural from supernatural.
Exodus 30:29, suggests in no uncertain
terms, that whoever is anointed is dedicated unto God and can’t be harmed by
anything under the sun for he is under the protective covering of the power of
holiness which potentially causes harm to any intruding factor outside its
course.
Furthermore, in dealing with the
intricate operations of the anointing we will agree that it’s the very presence
of God Almighty manifesting within the oracles of men. Either through
alteration or intervention where change and prevention have long been overdue
to the extent of hopeless-ness and helpless-ness, to the very point where the
desires of one are completely meet and satisfied.
The entire procedure and process of manufacturing the anointing oil is based on the mostaria/ the mystery that it must leave behind a residue, a portion of evidence and a degree of affect as much as a level of impact in the very place where it has been or where it is.
This mystery is physically experienced in
the finest spices/ perfumes that embody the anointing oil. These fine spices
are not only precious and rare but they are also expensive.
Conversely everyone
who has a desire to have a relationship with the anointing must be willing to pay
the cost/ the price.
And the price surely does not have to be low and cheap but
rather high and expensive.
However in an interesting turn of
events those who believe and follow the lord Jesus Christ can be glad in
understanding that even though the price/ the cost of the anointing is wholly
high and expensive.
Jesus
paid the cost and the price on the cross upon the hill called Calvary.
That is
why he goes on to tell his disciples somewhere in the secret scriptures’ will
send you a helper, a counselor, and a
comforter” surely in the helper after him, Jesus is talking about the holy
ghost anointing whose cost as per the New testament is total trust and believe
in the awesome name of Jesus.
The Holy Ghost anointing is a constant help when
we can’t even help ourselves, our defense and strength- when we seemingly
caught-up in the circumstances that are void of any physical defense mechanism
and in situations of our deepest weakness.
The true uniqueness of the anointing is
of such that it’s always leaves a residue behind so that anybody who comes
after it will evidently sense it’s effect and presence even when its long
gone.
1 Samuel 16:”The Lord said to Samuel, how long will you go on grieving over Saul?
1 Samuel 16:”The Lord said to Samuel, how long will you go on grieving over Saul?
I
have rejected him as king of Israel. But fill your horn (shofar) with oil and
go to Bethlehem, to a man named Jesse, because I have chosen one of his sons to
be king.
Ever since time immemorial the storage
of the anointing oil had always been in either the alabaster jar, or in
containers like bottles but in the 16th chapter of the 1st
book of Samuel, we come across on interesting scenario where the Lord God
Almighty instructs the prophet Samuel to fill his ‘horn’ with the olive oil
with the sole aim anointing one of Jesse’s sons as chosen king.
In this regards when we make a careful
analysis of the horn that is being spoken hereof; we realize it is none other
than the rum’s horn or rather the traditional Hebrew shofar.
The oil used anoint king Saul as king
of Israel was poured from the jar-an open headed container of substance that can
be massively accessed by many.
In contrast the Oil the prophet Samuel
anointed David with in chapter 16-13 is one that is poured from the shofar-a
closed container of substance which can only be accessed by a few. Its special
as much as unique, it’s the anointing of mighty warriors for it equips its recipients
to war with the motivation of assured victory.
It’s a weapon all in itself a weapon
that seems weak on sight but effective by faith. It’s the force by which the
stones of David brought down Goliath to utter shame. It’s the victory of a
nation and the strength of God amidst a nation that is crest-fallen and demoralized.
The Shofar anointing it made David a
threat in the sight of King Saul even though King Saul was in a prominent
trapping than David. It favors man in places that they are disliked even though
the haters cannot cut you off.
It’s 4; 00AM ON THE 14TH OF May 2013
and the Lord God revealed it to my heart.”It’s the shofar anointing that causes
a man to win battles that no one has ever won.
It’s the same anointing that
causes a man to be helped and comforted even in the most helpless and
uncomfortable of situations.
